(SAUDI ARABIA) — Saudi Arabia’s Qiwa platform has set June 30, 2026 as the deadline for establishments to renew or correct work permits that have been expired for 3 months or more. Employers must complete either action through the platform before the cutoff arrives.
After June 30, workers whose permits remain expired may be automatically deregistered from the establishment’s record, removing them from the active labor roster without requiring separate enforcement action.
Automatic deregistration does not extinguish employer liability. Establishments remain liable for related fees and obligations tied to deregistered workers.
A separate requirement, outlined in a June 24, 2026 advisory from Fragomen, an immigration law firm, affects Premium Residency holders. These individuals now need a separate work permit before they can begin working.
Applications for the Premium Residency work permit are handled through the
