A 24-year-old student from India, Chirag Antil, was killed in a shooting incident in South Vancouver, Canada, as reported by the local police. The incident occurred on the night of April 12, around 11 pm at the intersection of East 55th Avenue and Main Street, prompted by neighbors hearing gunshots. Police found Chirag Antil dead in a car, but no arrests have yet been made, and the investigation is still underway.

Earlier on the day of the shooting, Chirag appeared in good spirits during a morning phone call with his brother Ronit before going out in his Audi. Unfortunately, that’s when the tragic incident happened.

He also asked for the ministry to provide all necessary support to Chirag’s grieving family.

To help bring Chirag’s body back to India, his family has started a GoFundMe campaign, according to local reports.

Romit Antil, Chirag’s brother, described him to CityNews as a very kind and polite individual who never had conflicts with anyone and maintained a close and constant communication with his family.

Chirag had moved to Vancouver in September 2022, completed his MBA at University Canada West, and had recently obtained a work permit.
