- Russia raised the unified electronic visa fee by nearly eighteen percent, bringing it to about fifty-two dollars.
- Expedited work-visa fees rose fourfold, reaching one thousand two hundred dollars for multiple entry.
- Standard paper visas cost less, but applicants should check local consular rates because country-specific tariffs may differ.
Russia raised the fee for its unified electronic visa by nearly 18% and increased prices for paper visas processed on an expedited basis. The priority service covers applications handled within three working days.
The revised expedited charges do not rise by the same amount across categories. Some doubled, while work-visa fees quadrupled. The electronic permit now costs approximately $52, or about €50.

Sergey Krivonosov, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Tourism, said the higher priority fees reflect the resources needed to process applications faster. He described them as a charge for accelerating the process, not a universal increase affecting every applicant.
Russia revised its consular-fee tariffs in October 2026. The changes set different rates by visa purpose, number of entries and processing speed.
Standard processing generally takes four to 20 working days. The expedited route is for applications handled within three working days.
The increases in expedited consular visa fees vary sharply by visa type. Work applicants face the largest listed charges.
Expedited work visas rose more than fourfold
The revised tariff lists separate prices for private, business, humanitarian and similar visas, and for work visas. Multiple-entry applications carry the highest charge in each category.
| Visa category | Single-entry | Double-entry | Multiple-entry |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private, business, humanitarian and similar | $200 | $320 | $600 |
| Work | $400 | $640 | $1,200 |
Fees for expedited visas for “other” purposes doubled. Work-visa charges rose more sharply: single-entry fees went from $100 to $400, double-entry fees from $160 to $640, and multiple-entry fees from $300 to $1,200.
That is a fourfold increase for work visas, not a doubling. The highest listed priority fee is $1,200 for a multiple-entry work visa.
Standard paper-visa rates remain lower
The standard schedule lists ordinary visas at $50 for single entry, $80 for double entry and $150 for multiple entry. Those are the revised charges for the ordinary category.
Standard work visas cost $100, $160 or $300, depending on the number of permitted entries. A multiple-entry work visa therefore costs $300 under standard processing, compared with $1,200 for expedited handling.
Transit charges differ by processing speed, too. Standard transit visas cost $50 for single entry and $80 for double entry; expedited TP2 transit visas cost $200 and $320, respectively. Study-visa fees remain unchanged.
The electronic permit still allows one entry
The electronic permit remains single-entry and is generally valid for 120 days. It allows a stay of up to 30 days.
Processing normally takes four calendar days. That timeline is measured in calendar days, unlike the working-day periods listed for paper visas.
Children under six remain exempt from the consular fee. A small payment-processing charge may still apply.
The Turkmenistan embassy published a different tariff
The Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan published a tariff notice on October 14, 2026. It lists expedited private, business and humanitarian visa fees of $320 for single entry, $512 for double entry and $960 for multiple entry.
Those amounts differ from the general figures in the revised schedule. The embassy notice reflects country-specific consular tariffs, and applicants should check the relevant Russian embassy or consulate before paying.
Applicants who can use standard processing have a lower-priced option. The revised expedited work-visa schedule, meanwhile, reaches $1,200 for multiple entry.
