The Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground stop citing an “aircraft emergency.” Around 360 flights faced delays of over an hour.

Normal operations resumed after the FAA lifted the stop by Sunday evening. The airport said travelers could face delays while crews inspected two runways.

The airport urged travelers to check their airline status

Airport spokesperson Monika Bertaki said she did not identify what caused the aircraft to leave the runway. The airport’s initial statement said there were no known injuries.

“At approximately 11 a.m., upon departure, a general aviation aircraft skid off runway 1L at LAS and made contact with the perimeter fence. There are no known injuries at this time,” the airport said.

Runways 1R and 1L were to close for inspection. Airport officials warned of possible delays and told travelers to check their airlines for flight updates.

What passengers should do

  • Check your flight status with your airline, as airport officials advised.

The ground stop was temporary, and the airport’s statement tied the inspection closures to the disruption. The stop had been lifted by Sunday evening.

The aircraft crossed the runway end before stopping

The jet was departing from Runway 1L when it went beyond the paved runway and contacted the fence. A flight-tracking map shared on social media by Red Wave Press showed it taxiing slowly, turning onto the runway, passing the pavement’s end, then veering right and stopping.

FAA registry records list the aircraft’s tail number as N200SG and identify its owner as Jacks Wings LLC of Boca Raton, Florida. It was a three-engine business jet bound for Toronto.

The airport did not give a cause for the excursion. Bertaki also did not say what led the aircraft to leave the runway.

Wahlberg said he and his companions were unharmed

Actor Donnie Wahlberg, 57, who stars in Blue Bloods, was aboard with his team and friends. He posted a video on Instagram after the incident.

“Getting a lot of concerned messages and texts about my flight's failed attempt at leaving Las Vegas this morning. Thank you to all!”

Wahlberg said the episode felt intense, and credited the pilots with keeping those aboard safe. He also thanked emergency personnel on the ground.

“Yes, it was me and my team/friends onboard the aircraft. It was a rather intense few moments (which felt like a few long minutes).”

“Thankful to God, of course, and to our incredible pilots who did an amazing job of keeping us safe and avoiding a serious disaster.”

He said he made the video for friends and family, then shared it with a wider audience. No injuries were reported among those on board.

The airport had handled more than 34 million passengers by August

The airport recorded over 370,000 operations and more than 34 million passengers as of August 2026. The figures provide a measure of the traffic moving through the Las Vegas hub before the Sunday disruption.
