What is a Regional Center?
A USCIS-designated EB-5 Regional Center pools capital from multiple foreign investors (each investing the EB-5 minimum — currently $800,000 for projects in Targeted Employment Areas (TEAs) or $1.05 million elsewhere) into job-creating commercial enterprises across a defined geographic area. Each investor's qualifying investment must result in the creation or preservation of at least 10 full-time U.S. jobs, but Regional Center investors can count both direct and indirect/induced jobs — a key advantage over standalone (direct) EB-5 filings.
Regional Center designation must be re-authorized periodically. Always confirm a center's current approval status with USCIS before relying on it for an EB-5 petition.
