(NEVADA) — U.S. Senators Catherine Cortez Masto and Jacky Rosen announced $29,974,140 in federal FAA grant funding for Nevada airports on July 9, 2026.
The funding will support projects at 12 airports across the state. These include pavement and utility upgrades, runway and taxiway modernizations, weather observation improvements, and hangar updates.
The Federal Aviation Administration provided the grants. Cortez Masto and Rosen said the funding will help Nevada airports continue serving communities statewide.
Reno-Tahoe International Airport will receive the largest award, $13,695,039. The grant will pay for reconstruction of the existing terminal. It will also fund upgrades to aging pavement and utilities.
Reno-Stead Airport will receive $5,094,412. That is the second-largest allocation among the Nevada airports identified in the announcement.
Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas will receive $3,564,630. The funding forms part of the statewide airport investment announced by the senators.
The grants cover work ranging from airport surfaces and utility systems to aviation facilities and weather observation equipment. Runway and taxiway modernization projects are also included.
The announcement places the largest share of the funding at Reno-Tahoe International Airport. There, the planned work combines terminal reconstruction with repairs to pavement and utilities.
Across the 12 airports, the federal awards will fund infrastructure work intended to maintain airport operations. The goal is to support service to communities throughout Nevada.
