Import Regulations
- 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos or 500g of tobacco. There are no information on age restrictions
- 1L of spirits (over 25% volume of alcohol) or 2L of lighter alcohol beverages (up to 25% volume of alcohol)
- Non-commercial amount of gifts and other unused items for personal use of value up to YER 100,000.

- Medical facilities in Yemen are poor, especially away from the main towns.
- Polio and malaria are common to Yemen. Dengue fever outbreak has been reported. Therefore routine vaccination are recommended for all travellers planning on visiting this country.
- Travellers should remember to exercise great caution when dealing with bloody or infected needles or when engaging in sexual activity during their visit to against HIV/AIDS.
- All travellers should seek medical advice before travelling to the country and ensure that all appropriate vaccinations are up to date.
🛡 Basic Security Information for Travelers to Yemen
- Owing to the extreme risk of terrorism and general acts of violence, travel to Sana’a, Aden and other urban areas is not advised. Travellers to Yemen should note the continued state of tensions and potential for armed conflict and check the current state of political tensions before travelling to the country.
- Foreign travellers to Yemen should be wary of politically motivated acts of violence against civilians which can vary from kidnappings to bomb blasts.
- Traveller who intend to drive outside Sana'a will need prior permission from the Yemen Tourist Police. Travel permits may take at least 24 hours to be issued and are easiest to obtain through a travel agent.
