  • All pets will require an import permit from the Department Of Agriculture clearing the pets of any potentially infectious diseases. Cats and dogs entering the country will also need to prove that they have been successfully vaccinated against Rabies before they can be safely admitted entrance.

  • Visitors to the beaches are advised to stay well away from the deadly Manchioneel Trees whose toxins can cause severe rashes and even death. Travellers should avoid sitting under them during rainy weather or eating any of the trees fruit and should obtain immediate medical assistance in the event of a serious accident.
  • All travellers should seek medical advice before travelling to the country and ensure that all appropriate vaccinations are up to date.

  • A temporary permit from the Ministry of Natural Resources & Labour or the Department of Conservation & Fisheries will be needed for any traveller wanting to fish throughout the islands. Spear fishing and removing of coral or marine animals is forbidden throughout the Islands.
  • Possession of illegal drugs can lead to large fines and prison sentences and all travellers should avoid any illegal activities which could bring them to the attention of the authorities. Travellers are advised to ask permission before taking any photographs of local people or buildings which could lead to scenes of confusion or embarrassment.
